Snowboarding / Skiing

With St. George and the rest of southern Utah being a hot dry desert, you wouldn't think you could find deep snow nearby.  However, only an hour and a half drive away is Brian Head Ski Resort with surprisingly the highest elevation base in all of Utah.  If you don't mind driving an extra 30 minutes, you can reach the newly renovated Eagle Point Ski Resort in mountains above Beaver, Utah.

Brian Head, a family-friendly resort that boasts awesome powder and consistently stellar conditions in a relaxed atmosphere. With an average 400 inches of powder over 650 acres, Brian Head Resort is a premier destination for snow sports.
Eagle Point is southern Utah's newest ski and snowboard experience. It was established at the start of the 2010/2011 season and has enjoyed a great amount of success since opening.

Both resorts offer terrain parks and a variety of trails and slopes for every level of rider.  St. George is one of the few places on earth that you can go snow skiing in the morning and then go water skiing that afternoon.  It is also interesting to note that it is only a 6 hour drive to the pacific ocean.  That is the same amount of time it takes to drive from here to the northern end of the state.

You can find out more about each resort under my Places To Go tab.
