Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is one of the most famous landscapes in the world. Its immense size and breathtaking array of color have contributed to its popularity with artists, nature enthusiasts, and sight-seers for years. Although the entirety of the Grand Canyon is located in Arizona, it is easily accesible from St. George. The easiest route is to enter the Canyon from the North Rim, which is located 30 miles south of Jacob Lake on Highway 67, though the actual north rim is 14 miles further south. Jacob Lake is in northern Arizona off of Highway 89A, and is relatively close to the Utah border. By car, the 147 mile drive from St. George to the North Rim takes approximately three hours, whereas the drive from St. George to the South Rim can take anywhere from five to six hours.
